Script timer
Paste a script and see how long it takes to say aloud at your pace, with and without pauses. Runs entirely in your browser.
Narration always takes longer than you expect. The script timer gives you a realistic estimate before you start recording.
How to use it
- Paste your script.
- Set your speaking pace — about 130–150 words per minute suits documentary narration.
- Read the estimate, and the “with pauses” figure, which adds time for paragraph breaks and sentence ends.
Your text never leaves your device: the counting happens in the page itself, and nothing is uploaded or stored. You can save your text as a .txt file.
Limits
It’s an estimate, not a stopwatch. Numbers, names, quotations and deliberate pauses all add time, so rehearse aloud before you record.
